As COVID transmission rates in NYC remain high, we have decided to temporarily move our Parkside Lounge show to Zoom. Please register via Eventbrite by 3:30 pm on the day of the event. The host will take open mic signups.

Hailing from Boston, Christine Tierney is a poet, flash fiction & creative non-fiction writer, music lover, photoartist and wannabe comedian. She holds an MFA from The University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast Writing Program, and a BA in film from Emerson College. Her first book, chicken+lowercase=fleur was recently published (2021) by Lily Poetry Review Books, and her writings have appeared in appeared in Fourteen Hills, Poet Lore, The Yalobusha Review, The Tusculum Review, Sugar House Review and other fab places. website

Kristen Tomanocy is a poet, educator, actor, and director from New York. She competed with the SUNY Oneonta Poetry Slam Team in college, at one point achieving 4th in the nation with her team. She has acted in various off-off-broadway productions, including as Lady Macbeth in Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the Maniac in Dario Fo’s Accidental Death of an Anarchist. Her directing credits include Antigone, Henry IV, Part 1, Rosencrantz And Guildenstern Are Dead, Fool for Love, and Cyrano de Bergerac. She’s currently at work on an epistolary poetry project with a fellow poet in New York. During the day, Kristen is a middle school English teacher at the Metropolitan Expeditionary Learning School in Queens.
