Mary Newell lives in the Hudson Highlands. Her chapbook, TILT/ HOVER/ VEER was recently published by Codhill Press. Her poems were published in BlazeVox, Dispatches from the Poetry Wars, Spoon River Poetry Review, Entropy, The Hopper, Earth’s Daughters, Written River, About Place, etc. Dr. Newell (Ph. D. Fordham, MA Columbia, BA Berkeley) has taught literature and writing at Fordham University, West Point, and other colleges. She is the curator for the Hudson Highlands Poetry Series. Martina Salisbury is a poet, artist, activist, designer and creative director. Born in Oregon to poet parents, she spent her youth living between the Pacific Northwest and Europe, including eight years in Italy, before moving to Brooklyn in 2000. An inaugural graduate of the School of Visual Arts’ MFA Design program, Martina worked as a designer at Colors magazine and the Museum of Modern Art. Currently creative director of Twoseven Inc, a multidisciplinary design / build studio, she has also led grassroots campaigns to landmark historic factories in North Brooklyn, and preserve manufacturing space in NYC. Her poems, photographs and digital collages have recently appeared in Maintenant: A Journal of Contemporary Dada Writing and Art (Three Rooms Press), and Poetry 99’s chapbook, Love Within Love (Spoonbill Studio). She has been featured in readings at Mana Contemporary (Jersey City, NJ), Studio Art College International (Florence, Italy), Time & Space Ltd. (Hudson, NY), Le Poisson Rouge, Cornelia Street Café and other NYC venues.
