I love poetry workshops. Whatever gets people talking about poetry is a good thing. Even if you disagree with everything the people in the workshop have to say it's good to just get those wheels turning. On Monday, April 9th at 6pm I will be running a free poetry workshop at Bar 13 for Louder Arts. If you don't know what Louder Arts is allow me to explain, they are a great poetry reading series that happens every Monday that starts at 7:30. It costs 5 dollars to sign up for the open and there are 2 for 1 drinks, so the odds of you getting drunk while being inspired by some great poetry is in your favor. The reading is always high energy and intense, like all great art. But before that, I will be running a free, free, free workshop where we will discuss a poem, work on a writing prompt and then if you have poems you want critiqued we can do that as well, as long as you bring copies. So that's Bar 13 on 13th St. and University at 6pm. It's free and so is the gift of poetry.
