Heard some fascinating discussions today about reading and performance, illustration and eBooks, and how to be a poet in the 21st century. Never been to a writers conference before, but this seems to be a great way to meet editors, agents, and other writers in a relaxed yet focussed setting. And the volunteers get to hear all this for free. No wonder they're all so cheerful! I'm up tomorrow to talk about How to Be a Successful Poet. Hmmmm...certainly raises a lot of questions. How do I measure poetry success when I didn't want to be a poet in the first place? And then with my editorial hat on...how do you become a successful poet, do readings, get published, and not antagonize editors and event organizers?
After that, it's Ask a Pro. This is going to be fun!
